RULES & REGULATIONS

1. The "Totem Olympic Contest” runs from Oct. 26 to Nov. 29, 09 and was organized by Totem Building Supplies and Rona Inc. (the “Contest Organizers”).

ELIGIBILITY

2. The Contest is open to residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence. Employees, agents and representatives of Totem, Rona Inc., LoyaltyOne Inc., the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, of any company, corporation, trust or other legal entity controlled by or affiliated to them, their advertising and promotional agencies, as well as members of their immediate family (brothers, sisters, children, father, mother), their legal or common-law spouse and any individuals with whom such employees, agents and representatives are domiciled, are not eligible.


HOW TO ENTER

WEBSITE ENTRY – With Purchase

3. After purchase, check the bottom of your Totem till receipt for an access code. Go to www.totem.ca to fill out a survey and enter the Contest. On the home page, click the Feedback Satisfaction Survey, enter the access code and follow the instructions to complete the customer survey. If no Access Code provided, proceed to Mail Entry.
- All survey respondents automatically obtain one entry in the Contest.
- One basic entry allowed per till receipt for the Contest Period.
- Each access code may only be used once.

MAIL ENTRY – Without Purchase

4. Enter the Contest by legibly writing an original hand written letter of at least fifty words explaining why you would like to win a prize described in this Contest, along with your last name, first name, complete address including postal code, home phone number including the area code, e-mail address and age. Sign and send your letter in an envelope with sufficient postage to: Totem Building Supplies c/o Marketing Contest, 6920 – 29th Avenue NW, Calgary, Alberta, T3B 0J4.
- It must be received no later than Nov. 29, 09, otherwise it will be null and void.
- All valid letters written automatically obtain one entry in the Contest.
- One letter allowed per person per day and per envelope with sufficient postage.

PRIZES

5. There are two Olympic Hospitality Packages to be awarded in the contest. Each package is valued over $16,000.00 and includes airfare, 5 days/4 nights double occupancy accommodation, multiple Olympic event tickets, per diem and gifts.
5.1. All fees or expenses other than those mentioned above are at the winner's and/or his/her guest's charge, including transportation between the residence and airport of departure, activities, meals, beverages (alcoholic or not), gratuities and taxes not included, personal insurances, Internet access fees, minibar fees, room service, local and long distance phone calls, security deposit at the hotel, if required, expenses of a personal nature and travel documents, as the case may be;
5.2. The choice of events and tickets’ location are at the sole discretion of the Contest Organizers and their representatives;
5.3. Subject to availability, the Contest Organizers will confirm the trip dates to the winner according to the events chosen. The winner and his/her guest must be available to travel between Feb. 11 and Feb. 28, 2010, otherwise it will be void;
5.4. All arrangements regarding the trip must be made by the winner with the travel agency designated by the Contest Organizers or their representatives at least thirty (30) days before the foreseen date of departure. The winner must provide the travel agency with the name on his/her passport or other travel document, as well as his/her guest's name and contact information. No modification will be accepted once the arrangements are duly completed;
5.5. The winner and his/her guest must travel together;
5.6. If a portion of the trip is not used, no compensation will be awarded to the winner or to his/her guest; The winner's guest, and his/her parent or legal guardian in the case of a guest who is a minor, must sign the Declaration and Release Form (the "Declaration Form") provided in compliance of these Contest Rules and confirm on it that he/she fulfills the eligibility conditions as set forth in these Contest Rules to take part in the trip;
5.7. In the event that the distance between the location of the residence of the winner and his/her guest does not justify airfare transportation, the Contest Organizers reserve the right to choose a different means of transportation to and from Vancouver;
5.8. The approximate value of the trip is namely based on an average value of the airfare and accommodation for two adults during the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games, which may vary depending on the date and location of departure. No compensation will be paid nor can any be claimed if the prize value is lower.

DRAWS

6. At 5:00 pm on Dec. 7th, 09, at the Totem Head Office in Calgary, a random draw of two eligible entries will be held among all entries received and registered during the Contest Period to award the prizes described in section 5.
6.1. The odds of an entry being selected for a prize depend on the number of eligible entries received and registered during the Contest Period.

AWARDING OF PRIZES

7. To be declared a winner, any selected entrant must:
7.1. Be able to be reached by phone or by e-mail, at the sole discretion of the Contest Organizers, within seven days of the draw. If a selected entrant is reached by e-mail, he/she must reply in accordance with the instructions given in the e-mail, as the case may be. Return of an e-mail prize notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification and selection of an alternate entrant;
7.2. Fill out and sign the Declaration Form that the Contest Organizers will provide him/her by mail, fax or e-mail to the effect that he/she has fulfilled all the requirements of these Contest Rules, answer the mathematical skill-testing question and return it to the Contest Organizers for them to receive it within seven days of its receipt by the selected entrant;
7.3. Upon request and in timely manner, provide an identification card with photography.
8. Failure to comply with one of the conditions mentioned in these Contest Rules or to accept a prize will cause the selected entrant to be disqualified. In such a case, the Contest Organizers may, at their sole discretion, cancel the prize or hold a new draw for the prize in compliance with these Contest Rules until an entrant is selected and declared a winner.
9. The Contest Organizers will send a letter to the winners to provide them with information on how they may take possession of their prize.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

10. Verification. Survey entries, letters and Declaration Forms are subject to verification by the Contest Organizers and their representatives. Any Survey entry, letter or Declaration Form which is incomplete, illegible, mutilated, fraudulent, registered, received or submitted late, bearing an invalid e-mail address, not bearing the correct answer to the mathematical skill-testing question or otherwise noncompliant shall be rejected and will not entitle to an entry or to a prize, as the case may be.
11. Disqualification. The Contest Organizers reserve the right to disqualify a person or to cancel one or several entries of a person who participates or tries to participate in this Contest by using methods that do not comply with these Contest Rules or that are unfair to other entrants (e.g. entries exceeding the authorized limit, use of Access Code obtained from an unauthorized source). Such a person may be reported to the appropriate legal authorities.
12. Acceptance of prize. Prizes must be accepted as described in these Contest Rules and may not, in any case, be in whole or in part transferred to another person, replaced by another prize or exchanged for cash, except as provided in the section below.
13. Substitution of prize. In the event where it would be impossible, difficult and/or more costly for the Contest Organizers to award a prize (or a portion thereof) as described in these Contest Rules, they reserve the right to award a prize (or portion thereof) of the same kind and of equivalent value or, at their sole discretion, the cash value of a prize (or portion thereof) as indicated in the Contest Rules.
14. Liability limit: use of the prize. By entering the Contest, any entrant selected for a prize releases and holds harmless the Contest Organizers, LoyaltyOne Inc., any company, corporation, trust or other legal entity controlled by or affiliated to them, their advertising and promotional agencies, their employees, agents and representatives from and against any damage resulting from the acceptance or use of the prize.
15. Website. The Contest Organizers do not warrant that access to or use of the Contest web site will be uninterrupted during the Contest Period or error-free.
16. Liability limit: conduct of the Contest. The Contest Organizers, LoyaltyOne Inc., any company, corporation, trust or other legal entity controlled by or affiliated to them, their advertising and promotional agencies, their employees, agents and representatives disclaim all liability for any of the following that may limit or prevent any entrant's participation in the Contest: malfunctioning of any computer component, software or communications line; loss or lack of a communications network; or any transmission that is faulty, incomplete, incomprehensible or erased by any computer or network. The above-mentioned persons also disclaim all liability for any damages or loss that may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, by the downloading of any web page or software or by the transmission of any information related to participation in the Contest.
18. Contest modification. The Contest Organizers reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this Contest in whole or in part, should human intervention or an event take place that could alter or affect the administration, security, impartiality or conduct of the Contest as provided in these Contest Rules, if required.
19. Termination of participation in the Contest. In the event that the computer system cannot register all Contest entries during the Contest Period for whatever reason, or if participation in the Contest must be terminated in whole or in part before the closing date provided in these Contest Rules, the Contest Organizers may, at their sole discretion, proceed with the draws among the entries duly received and registered during the Contest Period or, as the case may be, up to the date of the event ending participation in the Contest.
20. Liability limit: participation in the Contest. Persons who enter or try to enter this Contest release the Contest Organizers, LoyaltyOne Inc., any company, corporation, trust or other legal entity controlled by or affiliated to them, their advertising and promotional agencies, their employees, agents and representatives from any liability for damage these said persons may incur as a result of their entry into the Contest.
21. Authorization. By entering this Contest, any entrant selected for a prize authorizes the Contest Organizers and their representatives to use, if required, his/her name, photo, likeness, voice, place of residence and/or statement regarding a prize for publicity purposes, without any form of compensation.
22. Communication with entrants. No communication or correspondence related to this Contest shall be exchanged with entrants except as provided for in these Contest Rules or at the Contest Organizers' initiative.
23. Personal information. Entrants' personal information collected for the purposes of the Contest will only be used to administer the Contest. No commercial or other communications unrelated to the Contest will be sent to entrants unless they have otherwise agreed to receive such communications, namely by checking the Profile option to receive additional special offers from Totem..
24. Property. Declaration Forms and letters are the property of the Contest Organizers and shall not in any case be returned to entrants.
25. Entrant identification. For the purposes of these Contest Rules, the entrant is the person whose name appears on the Opinion Survey or on the letter, as the case may be, and it is to this person to whom a prize will be awarded if he/she is selected and declared a winner.
26. Contest Organizers' decision. Any decision by the Contest Organizers or their representatives regarding this Contest is final and without appeal.
27. Contest organization. The Contest is organized by Totem and RONA Inc. LoyaltyOne Inc. and the Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games are in no way connected to the management of this Contest.
28. Unenforceability. If a section of the Contest Rules is declared or deemed illegal, unenforceable or invalid by a competent court, that section shall be considered invalid, but all unaffected sections will be applied within the limits of the law.
