Quality Kiln-Dried Lumber
The single bottom plate is PWF treated lumber and the double top plates are spruce. The walls are built using pre-cut studs framed on strong 16” centres. A single, engineered TimberStrand® beam for the overhead door header, and 2 x 8 lintels for the entry door and windows are also provided.
OSB Exterior Wall and Roof Sheathing
Rigid exterior 4’ x 8’ panels that are smooth without patches, splits or knots. Widely used by builders and contractors in all types of construction, OSB sheathing can be stained or painted until a permanent exterior finish is applied.
Deluxe Insulated Steel Entry Door
A distinctive raised panel design is ready to install. The prehung unit features a completely primed, rabbetted door jamb with aluminum sill and weatherstripping. Your choice of left or right hinge swing. Complete with door lockset and keyed alike deadbolt.
Overhead Sectional Garage Doors
A 16’ x 7’ insulated garage door is standard for double garages. An insulated 9’x7’ door is standard with each single car garage. Optional twin insulated 9’ x 7’ doors on double garages are an upgrade. Our doors are prime-coated galvanized steel. The energy efficient insulated panels have a distinctive embossed woodgrain, raised panel design.
Fixed Garage Windows
Two 36 x 30, double-glazed, fixed window units in maintenance-free PVC. These can be placed just about anywhere on the walls. Upgrade to sliding windows with a range of sizes available.
Prebuilt Roof Truss Rafters
Approved standard gable style trusses are placed 24” on center. They feature a 16” overhang and a 1-1/2” cutback. Cottage roof style garages are available and can be special ordered.
Soffit and Fascia Trim
Prefinished aluminum completely enclose the overhang and undereaves. Vented soffit panels allow air to constantly flow through attic space.
Roof Shingles
Deluxe double-layer laminate shingles with a lifetime warranty. Check the colour of shingles on your house and we’ll match it on your new garage. Felt roof underlay is provided for use under the shingles on the entire roof. Plastic, pitch louver roof vents are included.
Hardware and Accessory
Each garage comes complete with all the nails for framing, sheathing, roofing, casing and soffit, as well as, “H” clips for the roof sheathing, a keyed door combo lockset and a handy carpenter’s nail apron.
Do-It-Yourself Instructions
Totem’s booklet combined with CD-ROM gives you a complete, step-by-step construction guide with easy to follow instructions from start to finish. The roofing shingles and the overhead garage door include the manufacturer’s installation information.
Garage Options
Vinyl Siding Package
Prefinished vinyl siding packages are available and in stock. Aluminum or cedar siding can be special ordered, if needed, to match your home.
Electrical Wiring Package
We carry all the wiring you need to light the exterior entry door, overhead door, and the entire inside to have power available for vehicles, power tools.
Upgraded Roof Shingles
A longer warranty or specialty features, like interlocking tabs or shadowlines, can be included at a slight upcharge. Ask us for all the information on our dependable brand name shingles.
Slider or Specialty Windows
Upgrade to a slider window. A number of different styles and sizes available.
Overhead Sectional Garage Doors
You can upgrade your architectural features with varied panel designs or decorative glass inserts. Wall height and vehicle size are no problem. You can upgrade the size or combineation to suit your needs.
Garage Door Openers
We carry a few different models and a variety of door opener accessories to make your door more secure.
Insulation and Drywall Packages
Finish the interior of your garage with fibreglass insulation in the walls and ceiling. Drywall or other inexpensive panels can be used to finish the interior walls.
Eavestrough and Downpipe Package
Choose from vinyl or aluminum in a range of colors to match your house.
Garage Services
Deposit
A deposit of $1000 will secure the price of your garage package now and hold it for delivery any time in the same year the deposit was made. This allows you to benefit from early or mid-season pricing now and to take delivery of and build your garage later, when you are ready.

We can recommend a qualified professional contractor to build your new Totem garage for you. Just give them a call. They will visit your site and give you an accurate price on the entire job, from start to finish, and done to your exact specifications. They can provide everything from the excavation and concrete work to the actual construction of the exterior finish.
